Woman, Body, Earth & Spirit—Inanna-ErishkegalNovember 27-29: Fri 6pm—Sun 5pmNorth Norfolk. Cost £150 (deposit £60 payable with booking)The story of Inanna, Sumerian Queen of Heaven and Earth, speaks to the process of feminine initiation through descent to the underworld. The myth offers a map for this most difficult of journeys which we as women may be called to make in our quest to become whole. This workshop will explore the function of the witness as ‘priestess of the Self’; meeting our ‘dark sister’ in the underworld of the psyche; cycles of creativity, descent and return; and the balancing of inner and outer worlds through the autonomic nervous system, which mediates these. (One of the Woman, Body, Earth & Spirit workshops). Woman, Body, Earth & Spirit—Lilith and EveMarch 26-28: Fri 6pm—Sun 5pmNorth Norfolk. Cost £150 (deposit £60 payable with booking)As the story goes, Lilith was God’s consort, given to Adam as his first wife. Now little known and greatly feared, she has come to represent shadow aspects of the feminine, and of woman, which the patriarchy has sought to banish from consciousness. In this workshop we will consider two aspects of woman’s nature – the accommodating and relational wife Eve, and the feared and outcast, ‘demonic’ Lilith; their expressions in women’s relationships, creativity, and menstrual cycles; and the ovaries as embodied home to these archetypal energies. (One of the Woman, Body, Earth & Spirit workshops). The Embodiment of Spirit—An Embryological JourneyMay 1-3 Sat 10.30—Mon 4pmNorth Norfolk. Cost £190 (deposit £60 payable with booking)This workshop will explore the process of development, from conception through the first few weeks of embryological life, drawing upon principles of Body-Mind Centering®, Somatic Psychology and Authentic Movement. Through movement and body meditations we will explore the embodiment of cells, membranes, tissues and fluids, engaging with the unfolding of form through which the embryonic sense of self begins to emerge. Asking what embodiment means to us as human beings, we will consider how the human embryo embodies spirit. This workshop is open to practitioners and trainees in the somatic, psychological and arts therapies, education and related professions. It can serve as an introduction to Module 1 of the IBMT training for those with relevant experience.Authentic Movement—An Introductory WeekendJuly 10-11 Sat 10.30– Sun 5pmNorth Norfolk. Cost £130 (deposit £60 payable with booking)Authentic Movement is a contemplative discipline involving a mover and a witness. The mover attends to internal impulses allowing them to unfold through movement and stillness as he surrenders to the moment; the witness creates a safe space in which unconscious material is invited to arise, attending to her own experience in the presence of the one moving. As both mover and witness seek to become present to their direct experience, clarity within their relationship to self and other grows. This weekend serves as an introduction to Module 2 of the IBMT training, and is open to all. Authentic Movement Summer RetreatAug 25-29: Weds 10-30—Sun 4pmNorth Norfolk. Cost £320 incl. lunch.
